H.I.M: This man has been through more than most and has come out the other side and can still smile. This man has raised six kids who all love him dearly. This man lost a leg and then his sight and still laughs about the little things. This man is my hero. This man is my dad.
What are you most looking forward to?
Christmas, spending Christmas with my kids and my wife. I really enjoy the whole process of Christmas day.
What’s your biggest challenge right now?
Walking. I have a prosthetic leg and my balance has gone a bit off lately so it’s been a challenge to try to walk again.
What’s you favourite thing in life at the moment?
Sleeping next to my wife. I enjoy the time when we get to lay with each other and talk.
What’s the best bit of advice you’ve ever been given?
To enjoy life and not take it so seriously.
Do you think you took that on board?
Not until much later in my life than I should have.
Who’s your favourite son? Chris!?
Bullshit! (This is my dad)
What’s your favourite memory from your life?
Other than my kids being born or getting married… Catching a marlin. I had fished my whole life and to catch a beast like that was such a thrill. At the same time, I think my biggest regret was killing that very same marlin.

Favourite thing to do in Melbourne:
Watch the football. Watch The Melbourne Demons or watch my kids play football.
