I love your “suitcase for a drum” idea. Where did the inspiration for that come from?
I like all those old blues acts that have are guy, a guitar and stamping his foot on the ground for the drum. Well I can’t just stamp here because the beat doesn’t carry so well but I found this old thing and it works out pretty well.
Do you enjoy busking?
Yeah I do. I mean it’s up and down and depends what the crowd is like but it beat’s the shit out of a day job.
What inspires you?
Old musos like Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Then you’ve got Skip James, Robert Johnson, they all inspire me.
I’m so much more into old-school music than modern music. You used to make music out of what you had on hand and that just seems so much more authentic to me.
