Yeah I am. I left my job a couple of years ago. I thought I could play music full-time. I figured if I played a couple more gigs a week it would be enough to get by.
What’s the average you pull in a day?
Oh that’s so hard to tell. It could be anything from $30 and hour to $100 an hour depending on the day and the people.
Is this your passion?
Yes. There is so much to do if you want to be a professional musician. Recording and plugging your gigs… There’s always so much to be done and I love it all.
Who’s your biggest influence?
So many. Bob Marley, Angus and Julia Stone, Jack Johnson, Bob Dylan.
Is there anyone locally who floats your boat?
There is a guy named Rob Longstaff, he is really cool.
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
A psychic. I just thought it would be the coolest thing to be able to move things with your mind.
What’s the biggest struggle you’re facing at the moment.
Saving. It’s always hard. I’m trying to buy a van so I can go touring. I am also recording a CD and that has to be funded as well. So yeah I have to be out there everyday to save.
Who’s been your biggest support?
The Humans In Melbourne! Haha, Seriously though. Everyone in this city is so supportive in helping local artists. You meet people on the streets and then you see them at your gigs and all of a sudden you have a new friend. I love this city.
